Community Relations
Unity Mining recognises that in order to continue our current activities and to expand our operations we must have the support of the communities in which we operate. Our Community Affairs Strategy has been established based on the following principles:
- Fostering openness and ongoing dialogue with people affected by our operations
- Consulting with the community on the environmental consequences of our activities and taking their views into account in our decision making
- Anticipating and responding to community concerns, aspirations and values in relation to our activities
- Assessing our social performance through direct consultation with the community, gaining feedback from a range of stakeholder committees, as well as undertaking independent community attitude surveys
